A professional, warm household with two adults and three children is seeking a full-time Personal Assistant | Household Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys keeping a home organized and running smoothly through thoughtful planning, consistent follow-through, and the creation of strong household systems, including household manuals, preventative maintenance schedules, and inventory tracking, among others. The ideal candidate is discreet, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently, with a calm and steady presence and prior experience building these types of systems from the ground up.

This role is roughly split between Personal Assistant and Household Manager responsibilities, with a focus on coordination, scheduling, research, and quality control. It is not a routine domestic role, though the candidate should be willing to pitch in when needed.

This is a fully on-site position, primarily Monday through Friday. Occasional after-hours support will be requested.

  • Location: Palo Alto, CA
  • Schedule: Generally, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM with some flexibility for after hours requests.
  • Compensation: ~$150,000-$175,000 per year (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily household operations and maintenance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinate small projects and ensure quality follow-through.
  • Work closely with household staff to maintain smooth operations.
  • Manage household logistics, purchasing, and deliveries.
  • Provide personal and family administrative support (calendars, travel, bills, errands, gifting).
  • Assist with organization projects and small family gatherings.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years working in a private home
  • Excellent references from previous private home or high-trust roles
  • Willing to undergo an in-depth background investigation
  • COVID and flu vaccinations are required annually
  • Non-smoker (no smoking or vaping)
  • Physically able to perform duties required (standing, lifting, climbing stairs, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
